5.
Engine Preservation.
A.
General information.
(1)
Engine preservation consists of:
(a)
Internal preservation of fuel system.
(b)
Internal preservation of oil system.
(c)
Preservation of compressor.
(d)
External preservation of the engine.
(2)
For preservation of engine, and its accessories use only fresh oil.
(3)
During the preservation - do not allow oil to enter electrical connections or accessories air
space.
(4)
During internal preservation of oil system and/or preservation of air-gas duct, engine fuel
system shall be feed with fuel or preservative oil.
CAUTION:
W HEN
THE
ENGINE
FUEL
SYSTEM
IS
INTERNALLY
PRESERVED,
MOTORING OF TURBOCOMPRESSOR ROTOR AS PER W ET MOTORING
CYCLE IS FORBIDDEN IN ORDER TO AVOID DEPRESERVATION OF FUEL
SYSTEM.
(5)
During internal preservation of fuel system or/and preservation of gas-air duct, engine oil
system should be feed with oil.
NOTE:
You can integrate (connect) the operations of internal preservation of oil and fuel
system as well as compressor preservation. In that case perform motoring of
turbocompressor rotor in accordance with wet motoring cycle (see 71-02-00,
ADJUSTMENT AND TESTS, item 3.D) and perform operations of air-gas duct
preservation during wet motoring performed as the last one.
B.
Internal Preservation of Oil system.
(1)
Drain oil from helicopter and engine oil system (see 70-02-00, SERVICING, item 2).
(2)
Remove fine oil filter from the engine and wash it (see 79-02-00, CLEANING AND
PAINTING., item 2.B.).
(3)
Fill engine oil tank with fresh oil (see 70-02-00, SERVICING, item 1.A).
