Maintenance after using OEI ratings
(1)
Using the 2.5 minute OEI rating.
(a)
After using the 2.5 min. OEI, analyze the circumstances under which this OEI was used
and check if any parameter limitation was exceeded (maximum allowed continuous
duration time, N1 max., CTOT max., TQ max. and SHP max.)
(b)
If the result of the analysis acc. to item (a) confirms there was no exceeding of
parameter limitation, perform the engine external inspection (acc. to 71-02-00,
ADJUSTMENT AND TEST, item 2) and if no abnormalities are found continue the
engine operation.
(c)
Record in the engine log book information on activating the 2.5 min. OEI, operation time
at that rate and maximum values of N1, CTOT and TQ, that occurred during 2,5 min.
OEI use.
(d)
If the analysis acc. to item (a) shows that during the engine operation
at the 2.5 min. OEI, the exceeding of parameter limit have occurred, i.e. operation time
over 2.5 min., turbine compressor RPM over 102%, engine exhaust gas temperature
over 1043 K (770°C, 1418°F) or torque over 139% - stop the engine operation and
direct it for inspection to overhaul facility.
(e)
During the Time Between Overhaul (TBO) period for each life-limited part / assembly, several 2.5
minute OEI rating excursions are allowed on condition that: single operating time at this level does
not exceed 2.5 min and accumulated operating time at this rating does not exceed 15 min, for the
rating limitation according to item (3).
(2)
Using the 30 minute OEI rating.
(a)
After using the 30 min. OEI no special maintenance is necessary. Record in the engine
log book information on activating the 30 min. OEI and operation time at that rate.
(b)
During engine between overhaul period (TBO) for each life-limited part / assembly, several 30
minutes OEI rating excursions are allowed on condition that: single operating time at this rating
doesn´t exceed 30 min, accumulated operating time at this rating does not exceed 0.6 % of the
Time Between Overhaul (TBO) period, the rating limitation according to item (3).
(3)
For shaft type 19.11.0280 with the maximum service life of 4500 h/6945 cycles: if OEI ratings are used,
the total accumulated time of the shaft in start/stop cycles shall be increased according to the
dependencies listed below:
(a) One 2.5 minute OEI rating shall increase the accumulated time by 12 start/stop cycles.
(b) One 30 minute OEI rating shall increase the accumulated time by 2 start/stop cycles.
The number of OEI ratings is determined by the records of their use in the Engine Log.
Each OEI rating use shall be recorded in the Engine Log separately.
