Self-acting engine shutdown due to emergency power turbine speed limiter system actuation.
After the self-acting engine shutdown analyze the case. Ensure the engine shutdown
occurred because of the emergency power turbine speed limiter system actuation. The
emergency power turbine speed limiter actuation is signalized by the light signal lamp
signalizing that the shut-off electromagnetic metering pump valve is on.
Establish the reason of the emergency N2 system actuation.

In the case of false actuation of the emergency power turbine speed limiter as a result of electric system
interference, find and remove the reason of the abnormality.
Continue the operation.
(2)
In the case of the emergency power turbine speed limiter actuation due to excessive rotational speed of the
helicopter main rotor (e.g. as a result of the pilot reaction lack on the increase of main rotor rotational speed
when the control lever (CL) is moved from the ground idle (Gl) to the flight idle (Fl) while the power turbine
speed governor is working incorrectly - find and remove the reason of the abnormality in the functioning
of the power turbine speed governor.
Continue the operation.

In the case of the emergency power turbine speed limiter actuation as the result of the kinematic connection
failure between the engine power turbine and the helicopter main rotor (e.g. due a damage of the freewheel
clutch in the main gearbox or mechanical damage of the engine output shaft), stop the operation and direct
the engine for the inspection at overhaul facility.

Delayed fuel ignition and exceeding the maximum allowed exhaust gas temperature
during the engine starting.
In case the operator does not react in time by breaking the start when any abnormalities occur during the start
procedure, an excessive increase of the gas temperature inside the engine is possible, resulting in damages of
parts in engine airflow hot section. Therefore in such case it is mandatory to perform as follows:
