4.
Removal and installation of the ignition unit.
A.
Removal of the ignition unit (see Dwg. 404).
(1 )
Unsecure and next unscrew the nut fastening the high voltage cable (7) to the spark
plug (6).
(2)
Disconnect high voltage cable from spark plug.
(3)
Unsecure and unscrew - two nuts (9a) on the left ignition unit and one nut (9) on the
right unit - nuts of starting fuel inlet pipe.
(4)
Unsecure
and
unscrew
the
screws
(8)
fastening
the
ignition
unit
to
combustion
chamber case (1).
(5)
Remove ignition unit from the hole on combustion chamber case.

Installation of the ignition unit (see Dwg. 404).

Carry out the installation of the ignition unit on the case of combustion chamber
taking
into
account
requirements:

(1)
Prepare the adhering surface of case of ignition unit
(3),
combustion chamber case
and metal washer (2) in order to connect these units.
(2)
Put the leak stopper (see 72-02-00, Table 202, item 42) on both sides of the metal
washer (2) - (see 72-02-00 Table 203 item 10).
(3)
Put the washer (2) on the flange of combustion chamber case and install the ignition unit.
(4)
Cover with lubricant (see 72-02-00 Table 202, item 5) the screws (8) fastening the
ignition unit and screw them down by tightening
them
with spanner in accordance
with requirements and secure them by wire.
(5)
Unscrew the nut (12) by one turn, connect the pipes (two for left ignition unit and one
for right ignition unit) of starting fuel to the pipe connection (10) or (10a) of the
ignition unit.
Screw down the nuts (9) or (9a) and (12) and tight them with use of spanner (see
deck tools) and secure them with wire

Put the high voltage conductor (7) on the sparking plug (6), at first screw down the
nut by hand and next tight it with spanner of the arm not longer than 100 mm (3.9
inches) and secure with wire.
C.
Inspection of leak tightness of the installed ignition unit.
NOTE:
Carry out the test of connection tightness not earlier than 10 hours after the end of
assembly of ignition unit.
(1)
Perform engine wet motoring (see 71-02-00, ADJUSTMENT AND TESTS, clause 3.D).
(2)
Inspect contact areas of ignition unit with combustion chamber case and of fuel pipes
with starting fuel nozzle. Any leakage is not permissible.
