DIGITAL WRENCH – ECU / INJECTOR / OIL
PUMP REPLACEMENT MENU
Clicking on the Special Tests Menu (Red Tool Box) and
then ECU / Injector / Oil Pump Replacement provides the
following selections:
• ECU Replacement (NOT REFLASH)
• Fuel Injector Replacement
• Oil Pump Replacement
DIGITAL WRENCH – ECU REPLACEMENT
Use the ECU replacement feature whenever installing a
new service ECU on the vehicle. Follow the guided
procedures in Digital Wrench to perform the ECU
replacement procedure.
IMPORTANT
Verify the stand-alone or on-board vehicle 12V battery
is fully charged and the PC or laptop is connected to the
internet prior to performing the ECU replacement
procedure.
NOTICE
Service replacement ECUs are formatted as “no-start
ECUs” and will not allow the engine to run or the user to
set fuel injector color, oil pump flow offset, etc., until the
ECU is set with the correct vehicle/ engine model
number.
The ECU replacement procedure copies the original
ECU’s vehicle information to the PC / laptop and then
transfers it to the new ECU. If Digital Wrench cannot
establish communications with the original ECU
because it is damaged, reference the MANUAL ECU
REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE.
1. Obtain a fully-charged 12 volt battery and the Chassis
Power Up Harness.
Chassis Power Up Harness:
PS-47296–B
2. Open the left engine compartment panel.
3. Connect the Next-Gen Service Power Harness to the
diagnostic connector on the wiring harness.
