6.3.6 Relay Reports
During Single Node Relays (Simple Relay) and Dual Node Relays (Two Step
Relay), many reports can be generated to confirm the status of the Relay at each
“step” along the programmed Relay communication route. If each location
operator follows certain procedures, Relay Confirmation Reports can be sent to
and printed at the Originating locations, First Relay Station(s) and Second Relay
Station(s). Relay Confirmation Reports can inform all locations involved in a
Relay command that the Relay was successful. SPECIAL CONDITIONS MUST
BE MET FOR RELAY CONFIRMATION REPORTS TO REACH THE
ORIGINATOR. This is why it is recommended that a Key Operator or System
Administrator set up the Relay capabilities with other fax Key Operators.
If you want to receive more information and/or documentation on how to program
the Requesting unit and Relay Station(s) to receive a Relay Confirmation Report,
please call the Pitney Bowes Diagnostic Center listed in the back of this Guide.
6.4 Programmable Power Saver
The Programmable Power Saver feature available on Model 2030 conserves
energy and greatly reduces electric bills while ensuring that documents will still be
received and printed.
6.4.1 Programmable Power Saver Feature (Heater Timer)
Your 2030 was shipped with the Power Saver feature ON and therefore does not
require adjustment. It is set to automatically power down and thus save energy
when the system is not being used. This programmable Power Saver feature
conserves energy and greatly reduces electric bills while ensuring that the
documents will still be received and printed.
In the event that an incoming document arrives when the Power Saver mode is
on (and the heating element’s temperature is low), the unit will reactivate the
heater timer while temporarily receiving the document into memory. Once the
element reaches operating temperature, the document is completely printed. The
heater element automatically shuts off until the next designated “on period,” or
when another document is received, whichever comes first.
Depending upon your needs, the Power Saver can be ON, OFF or
CUSTOMIZED. These choices are available under the “Setting System Options,”
(See Section 5.7.2). If “ON” is selected, the heater will be powered only when a
print operation is imminent. When “OFF” is selected, the Model 2030’s heater will
always receive full power.
Selecting the “CUSTOM” setting will maintain full power to the heating element
from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The printer heater will be off
during the remaining times. Different customized routines can also be remotely
programmed by the Diagnostic Center or a Pitney Bowes technician. Once
programmed with the “CUSTOM” setting selected, the 2030 will automatically turn
