7.6  Installing/Replacing the Imaging Cartridge 

 

Follow the steps outlined below to install or replace the 2030’s Imaging Cartridge.  
If replacing the cartridge, it is recommended that you perform the “Clean Printer 
Procedure” after replacement.  See next Section for details. 
 
 

 

• 

Remove the new Imaging Cartridge 
from the carton. 

 

• 

Pull the tear strip on the aluminum 
colored (anti-static) bag and remove 
the new Imaging Cartridge.  See 

CAUTION

 to follow. 

 
1. Gently rock the cartridge from end to 

end five or six times to redistribute the 
toner. 

 
 
2. Remove the protective seal. 

Note

: Pull the seal slowly and straight 

out. 

  
 
3. Push the button on the right side of 

the unit to open the Printer Cover. 

Note:

  As soon as you open the panel, 

you will hear an audible alarm.  This 
will stop in approximately 10 seconds. 
To turn it off immediately, press Stop.  
Display flashes “Printer Door Open.” 

 
 

CAUTION:

  To prevent damage or poor image quality, do not touch the drum 

surface (gray cylinder underneath protective cover) or expose the Imaging 
Cartridge to direct sunlight or room light for more than a few minutes.  The 
cartridge uses a developing process similar to that used for film in a camera.  
Light can cause the developing roller inside the cartridge to be damaged.
