7.5 Cleaning the Scanner Surface

To ensure transmission of quality images, i.e., those void of lines or other marks,
periodic cleaning of the scanner glass in recommended. To do so, proceed as
follows:

1. Open the Operator Panel. Grasp the right side of the panel, as you

would to release documents from the feeder, and lift up. Locate the long
narrow vertical strip of glass located between the paper feed rollers.

2. Using a soft clean, moistened* cloth, wipe the glass surface.

3. Also clean the white plastic strip located in the upper half of the Operator

Panel.

4. Close the Operator Panel.

*Note:

Do not use abrasives or caustic substances to clean the

scanner glass. Isopropyl alcohol is recommended.
