2. After the connection is made, listen until the receive
tone stops. As soon as the tone stops, enter the
following: #, Mailbox number, #, Security Code, *
from the Keypad on the phone.
For example, enter: #25#1234* for Mailbox 25 with a
Security Code of 1234.
Listen carefully through the
Telephone Handset. If the
Model 2030 is ready, you’ll
hear a SOLID READY TONE.
If the Model 2030 is not
ready, you’ll hear a BROKEN
NOT READY TONE. See
NOTE 1.
3. Press SEND/RECEIVE once.
You should not press SEND/
RECEIVE unless you hear the
SOLID READY TONE.
The documents in the Model
2030 Mailbox are sent to your
unit.
NOTES:
1.
If you hear a BROKEN NOT READY TONE, there either is no mail or the
Security Code for the Mailbox was incorrect
2.
If there is a communication error during the transmission, repeat Steps #1-3.
3.
The Mailbox Security Code takes priority over a Polling Passcode when a
Mailbox is polled.
6.3 Relay Functions
Your 2030 has the ability to request a Relay*, that is, to ask the recipient fax unit
to forward your document to another fax unit. The Relay feature allows you to
perform a number of powerful communication links, such as:
•
Request a Simple (or Single Node) Relay from your unit (the Requestor),
through a Relay Station (Node), and on to a third fax unit (or final
Destination).
•
Request a Dual Node (or Two Step) Relay from your unit (the
Requestor), through a second fax machine (Node 1), then through a third
unit (Node 2) and on to a fourth fax machine (final Destination).
As with more sophisticated features like Mailboxes, it is recommended that a Key
Operator or System Administrator set up the Relay capabilities with other fax Key
Operators. Careful assignment of Speed Dial Numbers and One-Touch Program
keys are essential for accurate faxing using Relay jobs. Coordination with remote
sites is required to keep lists and report generation accurate.
