not a malfunction. Check the disc packaging fo r details about the audio t r acks available.
Du r ing playback of DVD-Audio,
the display shows PCM .
• This will occu r when playing DVD-Audio mate r ial ove r the HDMI connection. This is not a
malfunction.
The powe r tu r ns off

Symptom Remedy
Cannot be r emote cont r olled. • Set the r emote cont r ol unit’s r emote cont r ol mode so that it matches the setting on the main unit
(see Operating multiple receivers on page 79 (SC-LX83)/page 91 (SC-LX73)).
• Check whethe r the r eceive r ’s r emote cont r ol mode is p r ope r ly set (see
Remote Control Mode Setup
on page 114).
• T
r y r eplacing the batte r ies in the r emote cont r ol (see Loading the batteries on page 9).
• Be su r e to ope r ate within 7 m and a 30º angle of the r emote senso r on the f r ont panel (see
Operating range of remote control unit
on page 10).
• Check that the r e a r e no obstacles between the r eceive r and the r emote cont r ol.
• Make su r e that the r e is no fluo r escent o r othe r st r ong light shining on to the r emote senso r .
• Check the connections of the CONTROL IN jacks (see Operating other Pioneer components with
this unit’s sensor
on page 40).
SC-LX83 only:

• If the RF adapte r ’s LED is off, the RF adapte r may not be p r ope r ly connected to the r eceive r . Check
whethe r the RF adapte r is p r ope r ly connected to the r eceive r (see
Connecting the RF adapter (SC-LX83
only) on page 20).
• The devices may no longe r be p r ope r ly pai r ed. Pai r them again (see
Pairing the RF adapter and
remote control
on page 87).
• When the r emote cont r ol o r main unit a r e r eset, the RF communications function is also r eset.
Make the settings again (see Using the RF communications function on page 86).
SC-LX83 only: The r emote
cont r ol display flicke r s.
• Flicke r ing may occu r when the r emaining batte r y powe r is low. Replace the batte r ies with new
ones (see
Loading the batteries
on page 9).

• If the batte r y r an down, the p r eset codes may have been clea r ed. Re-ente r the p r eset codes.
• The p r eset code may be inco rr ect. Redo the p r ocedu r e fo r ente r ing p r eset codes.
• When commands f r om the r emote cont r ol units of othe r devices a r e r egiste r ed using the lea r ning
function, in some cases they may not be lea r ned p r ope r ly. In this case, r egiste r the commands again
using the lea r ning function (see
Programming signals from other remote controls
on page 80 (SC-
LX83) / page 92 (SC-LX73)). If they still do not wo r k, they may be in a special fo r mat that cannot be
r egiste r ed on this r eceive r ’s r emote cont r ol. Ope r ate the device using anothe r r emote cont r ol.
