Operating multiple receivers
The r emote cont r ol included with this r eceive r can be
used to ope r ate up to th r ee othe r r eceive r s (of the same
model as this r eceive r ) in addition to this r eceive r .

The
r eceive r to be ope r ated is switched by inputting the
p r eset code to set the r emote cont r ol setting.
• Set the r emote modes on the r eceive r s befo r e using
this function (see
Remote Control Mode Setup
on
page 114).
1 Check that the remote control’s MULTI-ZONE
selector switch is set to MAIN and that the operation
selector switch is set to RECEIVER.
2 While pressing MULTI OPERATION, press HOME
MENU.
The r emote display shows
SETUP MENU

3 Use
/
to select ‘CHANGE RC MODE’, then press
ENTER.
4 Use

to select the remote mode.

5 Press ENTER to set the remote mode.
The selected mode flashes fo r 3 seconds.
To ope r ate anothe r r eceive r , sta r t ove r f r om step 1 to
input its p r eset code.
Setting the remote to control other
components
Most components can be assigned to one of the input
function buttons (such as
DVD o r CD ) using the component’s
manufactu r e r p r eset code sto r ed in the r emote.
Howeve r , the r e a r e cases whe r e only ce r tain functions
may be cont r ollable afte r assigning the p r ope r p r eset
code, o r the codes fo r the manufactu r e r in the r emote
cont r ol will not wo r k fo r the model that you a r e using.
If you can’t find a p r eset code that matches the
component you want to cont r ol, you can still teach the
r emote individual commands f r om anothe r r emote
cont r ol (see
Programming signals from other remote
controls
on page 80).
• Fo r g r eate r convenience, assign the TV connected to
the MONITOR OUT te r minal to the TV ope r ation
selecto r switch, and assign you r satellite/cable r eceive r
o r set-top box connected to the TV input te r minal to the
TV input button. If a single device is connected to both
te r minals, that device should be assigned to both the
TV ope r ation selecto r switch and TV input buttons.
• Devices may be assigned to the following input
function buttons.
Selecting preset codes directly
1 While pressing MULTI OPERATION, press HOME
MENU.
The r emote display shows SETUP MENU .
2 Use
/
to select ‘PRESET RECALL’, then press
ENTER.
3 Press the input function button for the component
you want to control, then press ENTER.
When assigning p r eset codes to TV CONTROL , set the
r emote cont r ol ope r ation selecto r switch to TV he r e.
The r emote display shows the component you want to
cont r ol (fo r example
DVD
o r
TV
).

4 Use
/
to select the first letter of the brand name
of your component, then press ENTER.
This should be the manufactu r e r ’s name (fo r example, P
fo r Pionee r ).
5 Use
/
to select the manufacturer’s name from
the list, then press ENTER.
6 Use
/
to select the proper code from the list,
then try using this remote with your component.
The code should sta r t with the component type (fo r
example, DVD 020 ). If the r e is mo r e than one, sta r t with
the fi r st one.

off (into standby) by p r essing

7 If your component is controlled successfully, press
ENTER to confirm.
