Playing an iPod
This r eceive r has the iPod/iPhone/USB te r minal that will
allow you to cont r ol playback of audio content f r om you r
iPod using the cont r ols of this r eceive r .

1 Switch on the receiver and your TV.
See
Connecting an iPod
on page 38.
• It is also possible to ope r ate the iPod on the iPod
itself, without using the TV sc r een. Fo r details, see
Switching the iPod controls
on page 48.
2 SC-LX83 only: Set the remote control operation
selector switch to SOURCE.
3 Press iPod USB on the remote control to switch the
receiver to the iPod/USB.

ve r ifies the connection and r et r ieves data f r om the iPod.
When the display shows the
iPod
top menu you’ r e r eady
to play music f r om the iPod.

Playing back audio files stored on an iPod
To navigate songs on you r iPod, you can take advantage
of the GUI sc r een of you r TV connected to this r eceive r .

You can also cont r ol all ope r ations fo r music in the f r ont
panel display of this r eceive r .
Finding what you want to play
When you r iPod is connected to this r eceive r , you can
b r owse songs sto r ed on you r iPod by playlist, a r tist name,
album name, song name, gen r e o r compose r , simila r to
using you r iPod di r ectly.
1 Use

to select ‘Music’ from the iPod top menu.
2 Use
/
to select a category, then press ENTER to
browse that category.
• To r etu r n to the p r evious level any time, p r ess
RETURN .
3 Use
/
to browse the selected category (e.g.,
albums).
• Use
/
to move to p r evious/next levels.
4 Continue browsing until you arrive at what you
want to play, then press

to start playback.
Tip
• You can play all of the songs in a pa r ticula r catego r y
by selecting the
All
item at the top of each catego r y
list. Fo r example, you can play all the songs by a
pa r ticula r a r tist.
Basic playback controls
This r eceive r ’s r emote cont r ol buttons can be used fo r
basic playback of files sto r ed on an iPod.

cont r ol to the iPod/USB ope r ation mode.

1 • This system is compatible with the audio and video of the iPod nano (audio only fo r the iPod nano 1G/2G), iPod fifth gene r ation (audio only),
iPod classic, iPod touch and iPhone. Howeve r , some of the functions may be r est r icted fo r some models. The system is not compatible with
the iPod shuffle.
