Tip
• The distance to the subwoofe r may be slightly la r ge r
than the distance actually measu r ed with a tape
measu r e, etc. This is because this distance is
co rr ected fo r elect r ic delay, and is not a p r oblem.
Positional relationship between speakers
and monitor
Position of front speakers and monitor
The f r ont speake r s should be as equidistant as possible
to the monito r .
Position of center speaker and monitor
Since mostly dialogs a r e output f r om the cente r speake r ,
keeping the cente r speake r as close as possible to the
sc r een makes the ove r all sound mo r e natu r al. Fo r TVs
using B r aun tubes, howeve r , when installing the cente r
speake r on the floo r , adjust its angle of elevation to point
it towa r ds the listening position.
• If the cente r speake r is not of the shielded type, install
it away f r om the TV.
• When installing the cente r speake r on top of the
monito r , place it facing slightly downwa r ds towa r ds
the listening position.
Troubleshooting
Inco rr ect ope r ations a r e often mistaken fo r t r ouble and malfunctions. If you think that the r e is something w r ong with
this component, check the points below. Sometimes the t r ouble may lie in anothe r component. Investigate the othe r
components and elect r ical appliances being used. If the t r ouble cannot be r ectified even afte r exe r cising the checks
listed below, ask you r nea r est Pionee r autho r ized independent se r vice company to ca rr y out r epai r wo r k.

• If the unit does not ope r ate no r mally due to exte r nal effects such as static elect r icity disconnect the powe r plug
f r om the outlet and inse r t again to r etu r n to no r mal ope r ating conditions.

Symptom Remedy
The powe r does not tu r n on. • Make su r e that the powe r co r d is plugged in to an active powe r outlet.
• T r y disconnecting f r om the powe r outlet, then plugging back in.
SC-LX83 only:
• When r emote cont r ol ope r ation is set to RF two-way communications, the r eceive r ’s powe r cannot
be tu r ned on unless RF Remote Setup is set to ON (see RF Remote Setup (SC-LX83 only) on
page 115).
• When
r emote cont r ol ope r ation is set to RF two-way communications, check whethe r the RF
adapte r is p r ope r ly connected to the r eceive r .
The unit does not r espond
when the buttons a r e p r essed.
• T r y switching the r eceive r off, then back on again.
• T r y disconnecting the powe r co r d, then connect again.
