Listening to Internet radio stations
Inte r net r adio is an audio b r oadcasting se r vice
t r ansmitted via the Inte r net. The r e a r e a la r ge numbe r of
Inte r net r adio stations b r oadcasting a va r iety of se r vices
f r om eve r y co r ne r of the wo r ld. Some a r e hosted,
managed, and b r oadcast by p r ivate individuals while
othe r s a r e by the co rr esponding t r aditional te rr est r ial
r adio stations o r r adio netwo r ks. Whe r eas te rr est r ial, o r
OTA (ove r -the-ai r ), r adio stations a r e geog r aphically
r est r icted on the r ange of r adio waves b r oadcast f r om a
t r ansmitte r th r ough the ai r , Inte r net r adio stations a r e
accessible f r om anywhe r e in the wo r ld, as long as the r e
is a connection to the Inte r net, as se r vices a r e not
t r ansmitted th r ough the ai r but a r e delive r ed ove r the
Wo r ld Wide Web. On this r eceive r you can select Inte r net
r adio stations by gen r e as well as by r egion.
Depending on the Inte r net line conditions, the sound
may not be smooth when playing Inte r net r adio.
About list of Internet radio
The list of Inte r net r adio stations on this r eceive r is
c r eated, edited, and managed by the vTune r database
se r vice exclusively fo r use with this r eceive r . Fo r details
about vTune r , see
vTuner
on page 66.
Saving and retrieving Internet radio stations
You can easily save and r et r ieve saved Inte r net r adio
stations. See Advanced operations for Internet radio on
page 63 fo r mo r e on this.

Registering broadcast stations not on the vTuner
list from the special Pioneer site
With the r eceive r , b r oadcast stations not included on the
list of station dist r ibuted by vTune r can be r egiste r ed and
played. Check the access code r equi r ed fo r r egist r ation
on the r eceive r , use this access code to access the
special Pionee r Inte r net r adio site and r egiste r the
desi r ed b r oadcast stations in you r favo r ites. The add r ess
of the special Pionee r Inte r net r adio site is:

1 Display the Internet Radio list screen.
To display the Inte r net Radio list sc r een, pe r fo r m steps 1
to 3 at Playback with Home Media Gallery on page 61.

to select ‘Help’, then press ENTER.

to select ‘Get access code’, then press
ENTER.
The access code r equi r ed fo r r egist r ation on the special
Pionee r Inte r net r adio site is displayed. Make a memo of
this add r ess.

– The access code r equi r ed fo r
r egist r ation on the special Pionee r Inte r net r adio site
is displayed.
• Show Your WebID/PW – Afte r r egiste r ing on the
special Pionee r Inte r net r adio site, the r egiste r ed ID
and passwo r d a r e displayed.
• Reset Your WebID/PW – Resets all the info r mation
r egiste r ed on the special Pionee r Inte r net r adio site.
When r eset, all the r egiste r ed b r oadcast stations a r e
also clea r ed. If you want to listen to the same
stations, r e- r egiste r afte r r esetting.
4 Access the special Pioneer Internet radio site from
your computer and perform the registration process.

Access the above site and use the access code in step 3
to pe
r fo r m use r r egist r ation, following the inst r uctions on
the sc r een.
5 Register the desired broadcast stations as your
favorites, following the instructions on the computer’s
screen.
Both b r oadcast stations not on the vTune r list and
stations on the vTune r list can be r egiste r ed. In this case
they a r e r egiste r ed on the r eceive r as favo r ite b r oadcast
stations and can be played.
Listening to Neural Music Direct
Neu r al Music Di r ect is an Inte r net r adio station managed
and ope r ated by Neu r al Audio. Neu r al r adio stations
delive r multichannel su rr ound sound. The Neu r al
Su rr ound mode is automatically selected and lets you
enjoy a r ich multichannel su rr ound sound expe r ience.
Neural Surround is a trademark owned by Neural Audio Corporation.

1 • To listen to Inte r net r adio stations, you must have high-speed b r oadband Inte r net access. With a 56 K o r ISDN modem, you may not enjoy
the full benefits of Inte r net r adio.

• A list of Inte r net r adio stations p r ovided by the vTune r database se r vice is subject to change o r deletion without notice due to va r ious r easons.
• B r oadcasts may be stopped o r inte rr upted depending on the Inte r net r adio station. In this case, you cannot listen to a r adio station selected
f r om the list of Inte r net r adio stations.
