DPM Reader Servicing
We recommend the use of insulated or sheathed pliers and screw drivers wherever
possible as a precautionary measure.
Do not use power assisted tools to disassemble or re-assemble the DPM Reader
modules or components. Disassembly and Assembly is to be done by hand using the
correct tool.
6.1
Tools required
1. Digital Multimeter, AC to 240V, DC to 24V, appropriately safety certified
2. Insulated/sheathed Phillips Screw drivers (PH1 & PH2)
3. Metric Allan/Hex Key set 3mm to 8mm (1mm increments)
4.
Linesman’s Pliers, insulated
5. Long Nose pliers, insulated
6. Open ended metric spanners sizes: 5mm, 5.5mm to 19mm
7. Long shanked nut driver 13mm (mounting plate nuts)
8. M3 Socket driver
9. M5 Socket driver
10. M5.5 Socket driver
11. Adjustable spanner for imperial size slot on external filter
12. Heat gun
13. Pinssar Cyclone Spanner
– 48-1249
14. Ethernet cable
15. Windows computer with Ethernet Cable
16. Red Lion Crimson 3.0 software
17. USB / Milspec cable
18. Torch light
19. PTFE Tape
– 1 roll
20. Room-Temperature-Vulcanizing silicone (RTV) Dow Corning 738 or equivalent
21. Pkt Cable ties, small 19 approx. 3mm x 100mm
22. Anti-static gloves for h
andling PCA’s (Printed Circuit Assemblies)
23. Soft cleaning cloth & mild soapy water.
6.2
Bolt Torque Settings
When tightening the various metric bolts or nuts, ensure bolts/nuts are not
overtightened. Observe the maximum torque settings as shown in Table 2.
