5.1.4
Pinch Value
In SCL 1 and 2, observe the position of the Pinch Valve (Figure 4) as this component
could generate enough heat to cause a burn injury.
5.1.5
Blower
In SCL 1 and 2, the Blower (Figure 4) can generate enough heat to cause a burn injury.
5.1.6
Silicon vacuum air tubes
In SCL 1 and 2, do not crimp or bend any of the silicon vacuum air tubes or excessively
bump or vibrate any of the internally mounted components. This may result in
compromised measurement readings or may possibly cause a component fault.
5.2
Locations and safety warnings on each component
5.2.1
DPM Reader Layout and Locations of Warnings
Figure 4 identifies the applicable hazards and locations of the various components
within the DPM Reader.
5.2.2
240VAC Mains Caution Areas.
When the AC Mains power cable is connected and the Isolation Switch is in
the “ON”
position, 240/110AC power will be present at the terminals of the Mains Isolation Switch
and on the Main PSU Input terminals.
5.2.3
Battery and DC Caution Areas
Care must be taken not short the battery terminals and or any components on the PSU
Board or other Control and Measurement boards or components.
5.2.4
Laser light Caution
The Laser Measurement Chamber module is factory pre-fitted with the laser and light
detector sensor. There is no requirement to remove either the laser or the light sensitive
detector sensor. If for any reason the laser is removed from the chamber block, there is
a danger of damage to unprotected eyes from a “powered on” laser beam.
