Engine Surging 3-4-05
1. PCL............................................. Reduce to minimum to sustain flight
If engine surge persists:
2. ACS Bleed Air switch.................. OFF for 5 seconds, reset to ON
If engine surge persists:
3. Electrical HEAT/COOL switch..... INHIBIT
If engine surge persists:
4. PCL............................................. Set to IDLE and descent to denser air, if
required to 15,000 ft
If engine surge persists and flight altitude cannot be maintained:
5. ACS Bleed Air switch.................. OFF
If engine surge persists:
6. Aircraft......................................... Land as soon as possible. If possible
always retain glide capability, to the
selected landing airfield, in case of total
engine failure
Note
Water/ice ingestion can produce effects similar to an engine surge, potentially
resulting in momentary surge.
