Step 31: Connect ESC Signal Cables to Flight Controller

If you have the ELEV-8 V2 No Flight Controller kit (#80202): the directions in
Section 7 are specifically meant for installing and connecting the HoverFly OPEN control board
only ​ . Use caution if attempting to adapt some or all of these directions for any other control
board. Parallax accepts no liability for the use of these directions with components not sold or
provided by Parallax for your specific kit.
You will now begin making the final connections between the flight electronics and
HoverflyOPEN flight controller, starting with the Signal Cables for the Electronic Speed
Controllers.
Parts Needed
● ELEV-8 Assembly, prepared in Step 30
Instructions
1. Orient your ELEV-8 so that it is upright and facing towards you.
2. Locate the pins of the "ESC Port" (as labeled on the Flight Controller Cover Plate) on the
front of the HoverflyOPEN Flight Controller (the side closest to you).
3. Take the ESC Signal Cable that you labeled “3” and insert into the bottom left pins,
oriented horizontally so that the black wire is to the left and white wire is to the right.
4. Plug in the three remaining Signal Cables maintaining the same orientation and using
the image above for the correct order.
