3-8-5 Laser gate operation
Origin point recovery (when laser marker is started) timing chart
Origin point recovery is the operation for identifying the status when the laser gate is completely closed as the “Origin point”
and is necessary to be performed each time after the laser marker is activated.
If the origin point is not recovered, the laser gate opening/closing cannot be controlled.
The origin point recovery starts when both the inputs [L-GATE OP IN] and [L-GATE CL IN] of the laser gate terminal are
turned ON at the following timings.

Time
Remarks
T1
10 sec or less
This is the time to perform the laser gate origin point recovery operation.
After both [L-GATE CL OUT 1] and [L-GATE CL OUT 2] turn ON, turn both [L-GATE OP
IN] and [L-GATE CL IN] inputs OFF within 50 ms.
The origin point cannot be recovered if this input is ON for 10 seconds or more. Carry out
the origin point recovery correctly.
T2
Less than 50 ms After both [L-GATE CL OUT 1] and [L-GATE CL OUT 2] turn ON, turn both [L-GATE OP
IN] and [L-GATE CL IN] inputs OFF within 50 ms.
Otherwise the origin point is not recovered properly, resulting in failure to control the laser
gate opening/closing.
T3
50 ms to 500 ms This is the signal to confirm whether the laser gate close output is working normally.
If the laser gate close output is working normally, when both [L-GATE OP IN] and [L-GATE
CL IN] inputs turn ON, both [L-GATE CL OUT 1] and [L-GATE CL OUT 2] turn ON after 0
to 5 seconds.

• The origin point recovery operation can be performed at any other time also besides immediately after start up of the
laser marker.
In this case, there is no need to match the standby output timing to the origin point recovery operation timing.
