Chapter 3 Troubleshooting
Y
N
Is +24 VDC measured between the FINISHER PWB
J844-4 (+) and GND (-)?
Y
N
Check the INTLK ON +24 VDC circuit to the
FINISHER PWB J844-4 by referring to the BSD
CH12.1.
Replace the FINISHER PWB. (PL15.13)
Check conductivity of the following:
• Between the FINISHER PWB J847-7 ~ STAPLE
HEAD ASSY J887-1
• Between the FINISHER PWB J847-8 ~ STAPLE
HEAD ASSY J887-2
• Between the FINISHER PWB J847-9 ~ STAPLE
HEAD ASSY J887-3
• Between the FINISHER PWB J847-10 ~ STAPLE
HEAD ASSY J887-4
If no problems are found, replace the STAPLE HEAD
ASSY. (PL15.9)
If the problem persists, replace the FINISHER PWB.
(PL15.13)
Turn Off the power.
Remove the STAPLE HEAD ASSY from the FINISHER.
Turn the STAPLE MOTOR GEAR manually.
Are the staple needles fed?
Y
N
Replace the STAPLE HEAD ASSY. (PL15.9)
Replace the FINISHER PWB. (PL15.13)
012-911 STACKER LOWER SAFETY WARNING
Description
The Height Alignment was not successful within
250ms during TRAY height adjustment (lowering down) of a
JOB. (The STACKER TRAY is full.)
BSD on : CH11.10A CH11.11B
Check Items
This Fault Code is an operation message. No need for servicing
If the display of 012-911 has not been cleared after removing
paper in the STACKER TRAY, check the following:
• The Actuators of the STACK HEIGHT SENSOR for
dragging and return failure.
• Run the following DC330 INPUT CHECK to check the
circuit of the Sensor.
DC330
[012-201] STACK HEIGHT SENSOR
• FINISHER PWB failure (PL15.13)
012-914 STACKER TRAY STAPLE SET OVER
COUNT
Description
The STAPLE SET count of the STACKER TRAY
exceeded 50 sets at the STAPLE SET EJECT operation.
BSD on : CH11.10A CH11.11B
Check Items
This Fault Code is an operation message. No need for servicing
If the display of 012-914 has not been cleared after removing
the STAPLE SET, check the following:
• The Actuators of the STACK PAPER SENSOR for
dragging and return failure.
• Run the following DC330 INPUT CHECK to check the
circuit of the Sensor.
DC330
[012-200] STACK PAPER SENSOR
• FINISHER PWB failure (PL15.13)
012-916 STAPLE NG
Description
The STAPLE HEAD HOME SENSOR turned On
by the OPEN operation while the Sensor failed to turn On
(stapling was not available due to an error) within 450 msec
after the STAPLE HEAD had begun to close. (The system
returned to the HOME POSITION by the OPEN operation.)
BSD on : CH11.8 CH11.11B
Procedure
Enter
DC330
[012-020] (CLOSE) and turn it On.
Does the STAPLE MOTOR operate?
Y
N
Check conductivity of the following:
• Between the FINISHER PWB J847-7 and the
STAPLE HEAD J887-1
• Between the FINISHER PWB J847-8 and the
STAPLE HEAD J887-2
• Between the FINISHER PWB J847-9 and the
STAPLE HEAD J887-3
• Between the FINISHER PWB J847-10 and the
STAPLE HEAD J887-4
Is the resistance 1 Ohm or less for all wires?
Y
N
Check wires with more than 1 Ohm for an open
circuit or poor contact.
Replace the STAPLE HEAD ASSY (PL15.9). If the
problem persists, replace the FINISHER PWB (PL15.13).
Replace the STAPLE HEAD. (Leave the Connector plugged
in)
Turn the gear of the STAPLE MOTOR manually to make the
Actuator interrupt the STAPLE HEAD HOME SENSOR.
Is +5 VDC measured between the FINISHER PWB J852-2 (+)
and GND (-)?
Y
N
Replace the FINISHER PWB. (PL15.13)
Though it is possible to run the following Diag on
the machine not installed with the Finisher, an error
will be displayed.
