effect, a warning message is given as a reminder that you

CHART SETUP/STATUS

menu key. It isn’t necessary to come to a
stop before removing a chart offset; you can press the
key when the
INFO
window asks you to stop.
2. Press the
menu key and then the
key.
3. Press the
menu key twice to return to the
CHART
screen.
Changing the track
control
The Northstar unit displays your track history as a series of
dots indicating the path you’ve recently traveled.
You can choose how often the unit stores a position fix as a
point in your track history; up to 1,024 position fixes may be
stored. When this limit is reached, the unit starts erasing the
oldest points to add your new points to the track line. The
more frequently you mark your track, the quicker you fill up
the track memory. The maximum length of the track depends
on how often points are stored.
CAUTION!
A chart calibration error may appear in only a single chart
within a cartridge, which means that you may need a different
chart offset for different areas of a cartridge. Since it isn’t
always obvious when the 951/952 switches automatically to a
different chart within that cartridge, you should be aware of
these limitations if you choose to use a chart offset.
