4. From the S-63 Permits window verify that PRIMAR.CRT

selected under S-63 Certificate with a valid expiration date
5. If S-63 chart permits are listed remove the existing permits by
clicking the Clear All Permits button.
6. With all previous S-63 permits removed, click the Install New
Permit File button and browse to the `PERMIT.TXT' file in the
`ECDIS 1’ folder on the CD/NavStick.
7. Click the Open button to install the permits from this file.
8. After the permit file has been processed by the system, an
information dialog is displayed that includes the total number of
permits processed, the number of new permits found and the
number of updated permits found. Click
OK to close the S-63.
Permits window and return to the Chart Installation window.
Installing NAVTOR Charts
NAVTOR supplies two types of CD/DVD media; BASE

and UPDATE

If
both are provided in the same delivery or if chart loading is to be performed
for the first time, the BASE media MUST be loaded first and the UPDATE
media second. If you are using NavSync, both BASE and UPDATE charts
are contained on the NavStick.
To install NAVTOR charts do the following:
The chart installation process described below is identical for BASE,
UPDATE and USB media.
1. Insert the ENC chart CD/DVD or NavStick into your `ECDIS 1’ PC.
2. Verify that the required chart permits are installed and that the
certificate file is correct from the `Chart Permits’ screen as
described previously.

If an S63 certificate file has expired, and a new certificate has been issued, the certificate
file used for installation of S-63 charts from NAVTOR is found within the root directory of the
BASE/UPDATE CD/DVD or NavStick. For installation details refer to

If you have ordered ENC Charts to be delivered on CD, you will receive a total of 8 Base
Discs labelled with the containing countries. The ENC Base DVD contains all countries on a
single disc. The ENC Base disc(s) are periodically re-issued to free up space on the ENC
Update CD, this currently happens about 5 times a year.

The ENC Update CD contains all new ENCs, new editions of ENCs and ENC updates
issued since the last ENC Base disc(s) where issued. The CD is cumulative so the user only
has to load the latest week number.
