4.12 - Speed of the drums
The ideal speed of the drums depends on several factors, such as: type, size
and density of the crop to be harvested, harvest conditions, etc.
By using different combinations of sprockets-wheels (A) and (B), different speeds
of the drums are obtained.
To change the drum speed, proceed as follows:
1.
Remove the 3 bolts (E) and the cover (F);
2.
Check which is the gear pair (C) that is
mounted on the machine;
3.
Find on the following pages the chart
corresponding to the pair of cutting gears
mounted on the machine;
4.
In the chart you can see that for each
pair of sprockets-wheels (A) and (B)
corresponds a different speed of the
drums;
5.
By changing the sprockets-wheels (A)
and (B), different speeds of the drum are
obtained. It is recommended to perform
practical tests with different speeds, until
finding the one that best suits the crop
that is being harvested.
