VLAN Configuration
A Vir tual Local Area Network (VLAN) is a network of computers that behave as if they are connected to the same
wire even though they may be physically located on different segments of a LAN. You set up VLANs by
configuring the Router software rather than hardware. This makes VLANs ver y flexible. VLANs behave like
separate and independent networks.
Beginning with Firmware Version 8.6.1, your Router suppor ts the following:
•
Global Enable/Disable of VLANs
•
VLANs of “Global” type
•
Packet prioritization based on VLAN
To configure VLANs on suppor ted models, select
VLAN Configuration
in the System Configuration screen and
press Return.
The VLAN Configuration screen appears.
Toggle
VLAN Enable
to
On
and press Return.
VLAN Configuration
VLAN Enable: Off
Set Up VLAN from this and the following Menus.
