Solving System Problems 6-11

If you need to replace the battery, follow these steps:

Turn off and unplug the computer and any external
components connected to it.

Remove the system unit cover (see “Removing the
Cover” in Chapter 5). Observe all safety precautions
when removing the cover.

If necessary, slide the system board out of the chassis (see
“Removing the System Board” in Chapter 5).

Locate the battery socket on the system board.

Note:

This procedure is for system boards

using the 3-volt lithium battery shown in the
following figure.
