
9-24 Upgrading Your Server
Hot-swap Fan
Your server accommodates two standard hot-swap fans and one optional hot-swap fan.
IMPORTANT:
Do not remove a fan unless you have a replacement
unit available. Once you remove a fan from the system, replace it
within two minutes.
Checking a Fan Status
When a fan is not functioning normally, you can observe the fan failure in the following manner.
POST error code
Alert message via NEC ESMPRO application
System event logged by the optional remote management card
Removal
1.
See the section "Preparing for Installation and Removal" described earlier to prepare.
2.
Remove the side cover.
3.
Grasp the fan module and pull it straight out of the cooling fan unit.
4.
Reassemble the removed components.
