Go to Step 4
Is voltage 4.7 to
5.25V?

Turn ignition OFF

Rail pressure sensor
connector
DISCONNECTED

Turn ignition ON

Measure the voltage
between pin 3 and battery
negative

Connect the smart tester

Turn the ignition ON

Initialise the diagnostic tool

Record the error codes and clear

Turn ignition OFF

Turn ignition ON

Verify if P1644 is present
Is P1644
present?
YES
NO
Step 1

Ignition OFF

Rail pressure sensor connector
DISCONNECTED

ECU connector CONNECTED

Check the continuity between
pin 3 and pin 1 of the rail
pressure connector
Step 2
Go to Step 5
YES
