Check the crank

Check the crankshaft sensor
and its wiring harness(refer
crankshaft speed sensor
section)

Check the crankshaft speed
sensor for any nicks

Check the mounting of
crankshaft speed sensor

Ignition OFF

Tighten the crankshaft speed
sensor mounting

Clear the error codes and
verify
Go to Step 2

Clear the error codes and
verify
Step 1
Connect the smart tester
Turn the ignition ON
Initialize the diagnostic tool
Record the DTC and clear
Turn ignition OFF
Turn ignition ON
Verify if P1340 is present
Is P1340 is
Present ?
YES
NO
Is the crankshaft speed
sensor mounting
loose?
NO
YES
