Line timing test

Overview
This test verifies the line timing functionality.
Required equipment
Prior to performing this task, the following equipment must be available:
1. WaveStar
®
CIT PC
2. CAT5 crossover LAN cable with RJ-45/RJ-45 connectors (see chapter 4, Figure
4-48, “CIT connection (LAN crossed)” (p. 4-74) )
Prerequisites
Prior to performing this task, you must have done the following:
1. Set up the line timing test (see section “Line timing test setup” (p. 10-18) ).
2. Logged in to WaveStar
®
CIT as Super User (see chapter 5, section “Starting the
WaveStar
®
CIT application” (p. 5-18) ) if WaveStar
®
CIT User Login has been
enabled during WaveStar
®
CIT installation.
3. Logged in to NE-A.
Test procedure
Proceed as follows to perform the line timing test:

Start a remote login to NE-B.
To do that, enter the following:

The TID of NE-B as
NE Name
•
LambdaUnite(R) MSS as
NE Type
•
OSI as
Connection Type
.
Click
Graphical
.
Result:
All units of NE-B will be displayed.

In the WaveStar

CIT System View , select View
→
Timing/Sync... .
Result:
The
Synchronization Characteristics
window appears.
