Overview
This section provides a procedure for configuring the external timing inputs.
Required equipment
Prior to performing this task, the following equipment must be available:
1.
WaveStar
®
CIT PC
2. CAT5 crossover LAN cable with RJ-45/RJ-45 connectors (see chapter 4,
4-48, “CIT connection (LAN crossed)” (p. 4-74)
Prerequisites
Prior to performing this task, you must have done the following:
1. Logged in to
WaveStar
®
CIT as Super User (see chapter 5, section
) if
WaveStar
®
CIT User Login has been
enabled during
WaveStar
®
CIT installation.
2. Logged in to the NE.
3. The external timing input ports must be connected to an external timing source.
Procedure
Complete the following steps to configure the external timing input ports:

Timing/Sync

Result:
The
Synchronization Characteristics
window appears with the active tab

Select the timing input format in the group box
Input Signal Format
by clicking on
the respective radio button. Select the format according to the format of the external
clock source.
The following values are possible for

(supports SSM)

The following values are possible for
SONET
:
•
ESF
(Extended Super Frame; supports SSM)
