The Diagnostics Log contains a list of all diagnostic messages generated. Select the Diagnostics Log
option in the
Logs/Reports
screen to display the Diagnostics Log screen.
Screen Contents
The screen displays a list of system faults under the following column headings:
■
Date
– Displays the date that the message was generated.
■
Time
– Displays the time that the message was generated.
■
Problem
– Displays a brief description of the reason why the message has been generated.
See Example Messages below.
■
Type
– This column displays the current status of the messager:
O
Active
– The message is current and has not been cleared.
O
Event
– The message has been cleared.
O
Passive
– The message has been listed for advice only
The log can hold up to 20 messages. If this number is exceeded and the log has not been sent as a
report, then the oldest message is deleted to provide space for a new message.
Example Messages
General Messages
■
Watchdog reset - the control board software has failed to restart the hardware watchdog timer
circuits. The hardware watchdog timer circuit has timed out and reset the microprocessor.
■
OS call failure - there is an operating software related issue.
LomaLink messages:
■
LomaLink is a two-way communications protocol that allows some remote control of the
detector functions. If your detector is using LomaLink the following Diagnostic error messages
may occur. Reference should be made to the LomaLink manual (part number 811153) for
further information.
■
Remote link lost - the detector was under the control of a remote device when a remote control
timeout occurred.
■
Invalid msg type - the detector has received an invalid message.
■
Unkn dataset req - the detector has received a request for an unknown data set.
■
Unkn dataset - the detector has received a change message for an unknown data set.
■
Unkn command no - the detector has received a command message indicating an unknown
command.
Not Monitored
The following messages are are not monitored and therefore only generated when the Diagnostics
Log screen is displayed. If the detector has already failed to function correctly, displaying the log may
help in diagnosis should the initial issue be the result of one of the monitored functions.
■
+3.3V out of spec - the 3.3V rail on the transmitter board has been measured at either above
3.6V or below 3.0V.
■
+1.8V out of spec - the 1.8V rail on the transmitter board has been measured at either above
2.0V or below 1.6V.
■
Drive in safe mode - the maximum drive current of 300mA for the operating frequency in use
has been exceeded therefore the detector has reverted to the 100kHz low drive current safe
mode operation.
