12 Cleaning, servicing, and care
Important information: before any cleaning or maintenance work the power to the
system must be switched off (press heating emergency switch). Clean only when the
boiler is cold and the ash cool - danger of injury!
10.1
Cleaning and care
Ash and soot accumulate when solid fuel is burnt, which means that periodic cleaning and servicing
is necessary. Without these measures there is a likelihood that malfunctions will occur for which we
accept no liability.
Only a clean and correctly adjusted boiler is an efficient boiler. A coating of only 1 mm of dust on
the heat exchanger surfaces increases the fuel consumption by approx. 7%.
The necessity for more or less frequent cleaning depends on the operating time, the boiler output
and the fuel quality. Wood pellets contain non-combustible components (minerals) that result in the
generation of ash.
Until you are familiar with the system and the fuel, you should carry out inspections at regular
intervals.
Cleaning of the heat exchanger
The thermocomfort PNA 15/20/25/30 has an automatic heat exchanger cleaning system, which
periodically cleans the heat exchanger.
10.2
Ash disposal and cleaning of combustion chamber
Interval every 3 – 4 tons of pellet usage or after report “clean boiler“.
