7. Pivot the latch for the PCIe card slot to the open position.

8. Remove the bracket for the PCIe card slot. Store the bracket for the PCIe card slot in case that you
later remove the PCIe card and need the bracket to cover the place.

9. Touch the static-protective package that contains the PCIe card to any unpainted surface on the outside
of the server. Then, carefully handle the PCIe card by its edges and take it out of the package.
