Defining the serial line communication parameters for navigation
sensors and external devices
Serial line communication with external devices is important for the TV80 system.
All serial line communication is based on specific transmission parameters. These
parameters must be defined at each end of the line, and they must be set up identical. By
means of the
Serial Port Setup
dialog box, you can define these parameters manually to
match fixed parameters on the peripheral device.
Prerequisites
•
The TV80 software is installed on the Processor Unit.
•
The new device is physically connected to the Processor Unit using a serial cable.
•
The communication parameters required for the device interface are known.
