Context
Through Ethernet, the TV80 system can communicate with any peripheral device that
can benefit from the processed data. This interface will require the absolute identity of
the remote UDP port and the remote IP address.
Procedure
1
Connect the TV80 to the peripheral system using the Ethernet interface.
Note
It is very important that a high-quality Ethernet cable is used. You must use CAT-5E
STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) quality or better. Using cables with lower-bandwidth
capacity will reduce performance.
2
Select the
Setup
icon to open the menu.
3
On the
Setup
menu, select
Installation
.
Observe that the
Installation
dialog box opens.
4
Select
Add LAN Port
to open the
Select Input (LAN)
dialog box.
5
Select the system you want to interface from the list provided.
Every interface is presented as a small "block diagram".
Note
Just adding an external device does not mean it is properly working. It is very
important that any serial line between the TV80 system and any external system
is setup correctly with identical parameters at each end. The
UDP Configuration
dialog box allows you to set up the IP address and ports to receive data from an
external device.
6
Select the LAN port icon in the “block diagram” to open the
UDP Configuration
dialog box.
7
Set up the relevant port parameters.
8
Select
OK
to save the selected settings and close the dialog box.
