CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL AND THE ENGINE OIL FILTER CARTRIDGE
4
WARNING
q
Change the oil with the machine parked on a level surface and the work equipment resting on the
ground.
q
Soon after the machine has been stopped the engine oil is very hot and may cause burns; let the
engine cool down until it reaches a temperature of 40–45°C before draining the oil.
q
The oil that may be spilled during the oil change will make the ground slippery: use anti-slip shoes
and immediately remove any trace of oil from the floor.
q
Oils, filters, the coolant and the battery are considered special waste and must be collected and
disposed of according to the regulations in force.
1.
Remove the lower cover (1) on the bottom of the machine
and put the container under the drain valve (P) to collect
the oil.
2.
Open the drain valve (P) and drain the oil.
3.
Tighten back the drain valve (P).
O= open
C= closed
4.
Open the pump compartment on the right hand side of the
machine and turn the cartridge (2) to the left to remove it
using the filter wrench.
5.
Clean the filter-holder and fill the new filter cartridge with
clean oil.
6.
Apply a layer of oil (or a thin layer of grease) on the sealing
surface and on the threading of the new cartridge and
install it.
REMARK
Make sure the old gasket is not stuck to the filter support.
Remove the residuals of the old gasket to prevent any oil
leakage.
7.
During the installation, tighten until the gasket seating is in
contact with the filter support and then for another 3/4 of a
turn.
8.
After replacing the filter cartridge, top up the oil through the
filler (F) until the level lies between the marks H and L on
the dipstick (G).
Always use oil of the prescribed type (see "FUEL,
COOLANT AND LUBRICANTS (4-12)")
9.
Start the engine and let it run for 5 minutes. Stop the
engine and check that the oil level lies between the marks
H and L on the dipstick.
