BUCKET TEETH REPLACEMENT

WARNING

The unintentional movements of the working equipment when replacing the bucket teeth are
dangerous. Lower the work equipment to the ground in a stable position, then shift the safety lever to
LOCK position (L) and stop the engine.
q
The pins may be removed only if they are hit hard, there is the risk that they are ejected and hit
whatever is in the surrounding area. Make sure that there is nobody in the surrounding area.
q
There is a risk of scattered metal fragments during teeth replacement operations, therefore, always
wear safety goggles, gloves and any other safety devices.
REMARK
If it is impossible to remove the teeth using this procedure, for
safety reasons, it is advisable to have the tooth removed by a
Komatsu distributor.
Replace the bucket teeth before the adapter starts to wear.
1.
Place the lower surface of the bucket on a block (5) and
make sure the working tools are in a stable position. Place
the bucket in such a way that its bottom surface is
horizontal.
2.
Shift the safety lever to the LOCK position (L).
3.
Place a bar on the pin (1) head and hit it with a hammer to
extract the pin.
REMARK
Use a rounded bar of slightly less diameter than that of the pin
to be extracted.
