Light Source Manual Operation
On the KI274x Series instruments, the light source requires a warmup
period at the set

for 15 min to achieve specified stability. On the
KI234x Series instruments, the specified stability is achieved with no
warmup period.
•
Press button below [SOURCE] to turn on the source at the last
selected
λ
.
•
Press

to select another operating
λ
.
•
To turn source on and off, press
Toggle Centre
.
•
[Laser source only]: To change power level, press and hold
F2
then use

or
+
(laser light source only, not available for LED
sources). To toggle between max and min power level, hold
F2
then press
Toggle Centre
.
•
To select modulation while source is on, press and release
button below [MODE]. Repeatedly press [MODE] to scroll &
select a tone frequency or ID-tone. Alternatively, press and
hold [MODE] then use

or
+
to cycle through all options.
•
Test tones available are CW, blink (or VFL), 270 Hz, 1 KHz, 2
KHz, and twelve tones for ID1 through to ID12.
•
To end modulation, press and hold button below [MODE] then
press
Toggle Centre
. Alternatively, press and hold button
below [MODE] for 3 sec.
If the VisiTester VFL option is fitted, the VFL appears as a 650 nm
source in the light source menu.
