The display shows: nm, dBm, dB, reference power
•
Press button below [METER MODE] to toggle log (dB) / linear
display modes.
The display shows: log or linear power in e.g. nW, µW, mW.
•
To set reference, toggle to dB mode, then hold down button
below [SET REF] for 3 seconds until the instrument beeps
finish.
The loss display will go to approximately 0 dB, and the stored
reference value will be displayed on the right side of the display.
Basic Light Source
To return to the Main menu, press button below [HOME] (
F1).

Press button below [SOURCE] (
F1)
.
This turns on the source light source displaying operating
λ
, nm
and nominal output power, dBm.

Press

or
+
to select another operating
λ
or, turn off the source.
•
Press button below [SOURCE HOME] to go back to the main
menu, and leave the source running as required.
Once you have set up the source, you can leave the source on, and
go back to the power meter.
If the source and meter are operated together, both source and meter
are set to the same
λ
. If the source is off, all calibrated power meter
λ
are available.
Once you have established that the equipment is working, and used
some simple functions you may want to:

Firmware upgrade
We suggest this is only performed if suggested by support staff to
overcome a problem, it is not usually required. Firmware updates are
available on our web site.
Instrument Hard Re-start
Should the instrument fail to respond, the microprocessor may need
re-booting. To do this, remove the batteries and any other external
power for at least 10 seconds. Alternatively, try some new batteries.
