Autotest Operation
Once in Autotest:
•
To set reference, press and hold button below [Set Ref] (
F2
)
for 3 seconds until beeps stop. The reference updates over
the next few seconds.
•
[Two-Way Autotest only]: To view reference and measured
absolute values, press button below [MODE] (
F3
), then both
lines of the display show information from the same
λ
, each
line shows a different direction. Then press

/
+
to scroll to
another
λ
. To escape this and go back to the default mode,
press button below [MODE](
F3
).
•
Press button below [HOLD] (
F4
) to stop/allow display
update.
•
When Autotest reference & absolute and loss values are
displayed, press
Toggle Centre
to show sources’ nominal
power levels on the left.
•
[One-Way Autotest only]: To exit Autotest, press button
below [HOME] (
F1
) on light source or disconnect patch lead
for more than 8 seconds.
•
[Two-Way Autotest only]: To exit Autotest, press button
below [HOME] (
F1
) or disconnect patch lead for more than
8 seconds, on any of the 2 connected instruments.
Kingfisher Autotest Compatibility
Some Autotest functionality may be used with other Kingfisher
Autotest instruments that share similar
λ
. Achieved functionality
should be verified prior to use.
Any Kingfisher Autotest source (except POF source of 470, 520 nm) /
power meter / loss test set / two-way tester can be used as a source
& meter, for one direction loss testing. This may include the following
instrument series, for example:
•
KI2000 series sources, meters, and loss test sets
•
KI2000 series two-way testers
•
KI3000 series sources and meters
•
KI9000 series sources
•
KI7000 series sources, meters, and loss test sets
•
KI7000 series two-way testers (partial compatibility in two-
way mode)
•
Agilent N3970A Optical Power Meter
•
Agilent N3974A Dual Laser Source
