Backlight
To toggle the display backlight, press [Backlight], (above LCD). The
backlight is only needed in low ambient light conditions.
Operation
These instruments can be used in one of the following modes,
corresponding to the LCD legends and adjacent buttons

Operation mode is selected by pressing the corresponding button at
the bottom of the LCD.
To return to the main menu, press button below [HOME] or
F1
The following instructions show basic power meter and light source
operation only, to help you get started. Refer to other manual sections
for further operation.
Fiber Optic Connector Arrangement
The power meter connector is in the middle of the instrument. The
Two-Way ports are on ether the left or right side of the instrument.
Source, ORL or VFL options are integrated with the Two-Way ports.
Look at the connector button colour codes to see their function, eg
•
White arrow = Power meter (not XL detector)
•
Blue arrow = Single Mode, PC Connector
•
Green arrow = Single Mode, APC Connector
•
Beige arrow = Multimode Connector.
CAUTION!
Refer to connector section to avoid instrument damage.
Always clean connector tips before mating.
