OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
DESCRIPTION OF WARNING SYMBOLS
1. Axle - Traction Control (ATC or Automatic Traction
Control)
A.
Illuminates during the power-on self test when the ignition
is turned ON. It turns off after a few seconds if no system
problems are detected. If an ATC problem is detected,
the ATC warning lamp will turn on and stay on.
B.
Flashes when the ATC is regulating wheel spin. (Refer to
Automatic Traction Control for more information.)
C.
It blinks continuously when the ABS OFF ROAD switch is
turned on, indicating this feature is active. (Refer to Anti-
Lock Braking System on page 154 and ABS OFF ROAD
function switch on page 156 for more information.)
For vehicles equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP), refer to
additional material supplied with the Customised Maintenance Manual in
the Driver Information Pack.
If this chassis is equipped with an ESP and is modified (e.g. adding or
removing an axle, converting from a truck to a prime mover, converting
from a prime mover to a truck, changing the body, lengthening of the
wheelbase and or frame, relocating frame components, or modifying
pneumatic or electrical ABS/ESP harnesses) the ESP must be disabled
by a qualified technician. If you have any questions, contact your
authorised dealer. Failure to comply may result in death, personal
injury, equipment or property damage.
2. Brakes - Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS)
Illuminates during the instrument system self test. Have the
ABS system checked by an authorised dealer if the ABS warning
lamp stays on for more than 3 seconds.
Illuminates during normal operating conditions to indicate a
problem with the ABS System. See ABS Warning Lamps on
page 154 for more information.
Illuminates when a problem exists with the optional Wheel Spin
Control feature. See ABS with Stability Control on page 156 for
more information.
