PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
10. Check the O-rings on the thorn of the oil filter element are present
and in good condition.
Fig 7
11. Install the screw cap (4), with the oil filter element, onto the filter
housing, and tighten it by hand as far as possible ensuring the
cap and filter are upright when it picks up the thread.
Fig 8
12. Using a single hex socket or ring spanner (to prevent cap
damage), tighten the cap to specified tightening torque.
13. Slide the lock (3) over the thermostat housing of the oil module
making sure the lock slides all the way down and catches the
screw cap (4). If the lock (3) collides with a rib, tighten the screw
cap a little further to allow it to pass.
Lubricating System
Check oil lines, housing and connections for leaks, damage or deterioration.
Leaks could be the result of damaged oil lines or seals.
Oil Draining
Hot engine oil can be dangerous. You could be seriously burned. Let the
engine oil cool down before changing the oil.
• Drain the oil into a container designed for this purpose.
• When draining the oil, remove the plug with the proper size spanner
and keep as far away as possible. Always keep your forearm
parallel to the ground to help prevent hot oil from running down
your arm.
