LUBRICATION SCHEDULE
LUBRICATION SCHEDULE (T4 SERIES – MX ENGINE)
1st SERVICE
1
FULL SYSTEM DOWNLOAD:
Download and archive log file recording all active/
inactive fault codes and engine/EAS system statistics, ie. fuel burn figures,
overspeeds, etc.

CHECK OIL LEVELS:
Top up as necessary: Engine, transmission, rear carrier(s),
power steering reservoir and oil lubricated wheel bearings.

BELTS AND PULLEYS:
Check condition of belts.

D-BLUE SYSTEM:
Check for leaks – air and ad-blue.

EMERGENCY SHUT DOWN:
Check operation of ISO switch, remote switches and
rollover devices.

ENGINE COOLANT:
Check for leaks. Check level and top up where necessary.
Use only PACCAR Genuine ELC30 Coolant.

CLUTCH:
Check and adjust where applicable. Lubricate release bearing sparingly.

TRANSMISSION:
With Mineral oil – Check oil level. With Synthetic Oil – Drain
mineral oil and fill with synthetic oil. Change oil filter.

STEERING SYSTEM:
Check sector shaft, steering shaft u-joints, slip joint, pinch
bolts, drag link and pitman arm, steering wheel free play and centralisation,
steering gear mounting bolts, hoses and fittings, fluid level and operation.

FRONT SUSPENSION:
Check and lubricate (where applicable) spring shackle and
hanger brackets, spring pins, shackle pins and bushes, spring leaves, king pins,
bushings, thrust bearings and spindles, u-bolt torque, steering and tierod arms/
joints, steering stops and general inspection for wear.

REAR AXLES:
Meritor:
With Mineral Oil – Drain and refill with mineral oil.
With Synthetic Oil – Drain and refill with synthetic oil. Change oil filter. Check wheel
bearing freeplay and adjust where applicable.
Dana:
Drain and refill with synthetic oil. Change oil filter. Check wheel bearing freeplay
and adjust where applicable.

DRIVELINES:
Check and lubricate universal joints and slip joints. Ensure all 4
caps of each joint purge correctly.

CHASSIS:
Grease all lube points. Check torque of chassis/frame fasteners,
suspension to frame bolts, cab/sleeper mounting points, transmission mounting
bolts, suspension u-bolts, torque rod mounting bolts and fuel tank mountings.
Check routing of fuel, air and electrical. Check operation of air dryers, moisture
ejectors and air tank check valves. Check hood alignment and clearance. Check
and drain water from air and fuel tanks where applicable. Check and lubricate 5th
wheel.

BRAKES – FRONT AND REAR:
Check brake adjustment, wheel seals for leaks,
operation of spring brakes, brake pedal free play and hoses and fittings. Lubricate
camshafts and slack adjusters sparingly.
