6. Operation

6-7 Stopping the engine

(T218081-141-0E)

This machine is ﬁtted with a turbocharged engine, so take care of the following points when stopping the engine.

(1) Rest the bucket on the ground then move the safety lock lever to

the lock position, use the accelerator dial to lower engine speed to
low speed and run the engine for 5 minutes unloaded to cool
down.

(2)

Move the starter switch to the "OFF" position to shut oﬀ the engine.

After the engine comes to a complete stop, pull out the key from the starter switch.

If the engine cannot be shut oﬀ after above step, stop the engine by pressing the stop side of the emergency stop

switch. Return the emergency stop switch back to the normal side after the engine has completely stopped.

If you stop the engine while the turbo system is hot, oil residues will be carbonized which will

cause wear to bearings and impair lubrication and may damage the turbo system.

・

When you have turned the starter switch to the "OFF" position to stop the engine, the indicator

lamps will remain lit for a few seconds after the engine stops in order to protect circuits. This
is not a malfunction.
