5. Preoperational checks

6-3-3 Precautions when traveling in water

(01E0-0181-3E)

When traveling in water, take care that water does not splash on the electrical parts.
When they are immersed in water, contact your authorised KATO dealer to order inspection.
If water splashes on the electrical parts, they could malfunction.

(01E0-0182-0E)

(1) This machine can travel in water up to the middle level of the

carrier rollers.

(2) When climbing out of water at a steep angle, 15 degrees or steeper,

the back end of the upper structure can become immersed in water,
causing the radiator fan to splash the water.

If the fan splashes the water, it can damage the fan by bending the

blades.

Be very careful of the water level when climbing out of water.

(3) If water reaches the level of the swing gear bearing section, inject

grease into the bearing until old grease is forced out to the outside
of the swing gear bearing section.

(4) In some cases on soft ground, the machine can gradually sink into

the ground. Be sure to stay aware of the surrounding water level
and be careful of sinking.
