6. Operation

6-2 Warm-up running

(T218081-139-0E)

(1) Engine warm-up running
When the coolant temperature is too low, the engine speed will

automatically be raised and a warm-up period set. The time
remaining in this warm-up period is displayed.

・

How to cancel engine warm-up running

1) Press the quick accelerator switch with the levers in neutral.
2) Turn the accelerator dial to medium speed or above and move

the levers.

・

Do not move any control levers including for the traveling or put any load on any system

during the engine warm-up running period.

・

If engine noise becomes a nuisance during warm-up running or in other unavoidable

situations, it is possible to cancel engine automatic warm-up running, but you should continue
the warm-up process at a lower speed which will not cause a noise nuisance.

(2) Warm-up running for hydraulic oil
When the engine warm-up running period has been either

completed or canceled but the hydraulic oil was not suﬃciently

heated, the message "HYD. OIL LOW TEMP." is displayed on the
monitor.

If this message is displayed on the monitor, follow the procedure

below for hydraulic oil warm-up running.

・

You must pay particular attention to warm-up running in winter and cold regions.

Excessively cold hydraulic oil can have an adverse eﬀect on hydraulic equipment. If you start

work before the hydraulic oil is adequately warmed up, the machine's response to control lever
operations will be poor and may not match the operator's intentions, so never start work
without an adequate warm-up period. This is particularly important in cold weather.

In addition to the immediate beneﬁts, a full warm-up every time will prolong the life of the

machine.

・

Watch the display during warm-up running to see that there is no malfunction. If any message

warning of a malfunction is displayed on the monitor during warm-up running, stop the
engine and investigate the cause before restarting the warm-up process.

・

The message is removed from the screen automatically once warm-up running is complete

and you can then begin work.
