Adjusting the water hardness
Simultaneous flashing of the A, B, C
lights after prolonged use signals that
descaling is needed (see para.
Maintenance & Care section )
The coffee machine is initially set to
use water with a low level of hard-
ness. For your convenience, you can
adjust the level of water hardness in
your area. In this way, the interval of
the descaling operation is increased
or decreased.
If you need to change the water hard-
ness, follow these steps:

Enter the programming menu
(see
Configuring the Pro-
gramming Menu )
•
Press button 2 to switch to wa-
ter hardness selection mode.
The indicator for the current water
hardness selection will illuminate.
Combination of indicators:
A – soft
A, B – medium
A, B, C – hard
The lights will flash sequentially.
•
Press the button corresponding
to the selected stiffness level in
your region:
A for low; B for me-
dium; C for hard.

The button will start flashing three
times to indicate that your selection is
stored in memory. After that, the beep
will sound twice.
The coffee machine automatically
comes out of the menu and is ready
to go.
