3. Setting up the modem

Click [start] and [Control Panel] in this order.

Click [Printers and Other Hardware].

Click [Phone and Modem Options].

Click [New].

When the “New Location” screen appears, enter a city code in the “Area code” field.
Usually, enter your city code here.
Enter the phone company ID number and extension number as necessary. (They are
usually not required.)

Check the dialing type of your telephone line, and select it correctly.
7 Click [OK], and the “New Location” screen will close.

Click [OK], and the “Phone and Modem Option” screen will close. Modem setup will be
complete.
