Z2C Installation and Operation Manual
o
Any resource can be a Dispatch Resource, a channel in one interoperability net, a
monitored
channel, and a Monitor concurrently.
o
When a channel is a Monitor, and it is also put into two-way communication with
the Dispatcher, the channel is removed from its Monitor function.
o
When a channel is being monitored, and it is also put into two-way
communication with the Dispatcher, the channel will continue to be monitored.
•
The following guidelines apply to moving resources between Dispatch, Nets, Resources,
and Monitors.
o
A resource occupying the
Dispatch Source
position may only be moved by
returning it to its position in the
Resources
frame.
o
A Dispatch Source may concurrently occupy a Monitor role and/or be monitored,
however it must be placed in the Monitor or monitored position prior to being put
in the Dispatch Source position.
o
Any channel icon other than that of the
Dispatch Source
can be dragged from an
interoperability net to a new position in the
Monitors Area
. However, channels in
the
Monitors Area
may not be dragged directly into an interoperability net they
did not previously occupy.
o
Any channel icon other than that of the Dispatch Source can be dragged from an
interoperability net to a new position in the Dispatch Resource Area. However,
channels in the Dispatch Resource Area may not be dragged directly into an
interoperability net they did not previously occupy.
•
Visual indicators are used to help identify resources.
o
When a channel resource is in an interoperability net, it is unavailable in the
Local
and the
Remote Resources Areas
and it is grayed out there.
o
When a channel resource is the Dispatch Source, it is unavailable in the
Local
and
the
Remote Resources Areas
and is given a green outline.
o
When a channel resource is a Monitor or is being monitored, but it is not in an
interoperability net, it remains available in the
Local
and the
Remote Resources
Areas
.
o
A channel that is being monitored – either in the Dispatch Area or the Monitors
Area – will receive a yellow outline in the
Resources
Area
and in its
interoperability net, if applicable, and a yellow outline and a one-way arrow in the
Dispatch and/or the Monitors Area(s).
o
A channel that is put into two-way communications with the Dispatcher in the
Dispatch Area will display a red outline and a two-way arrow in the Dispatch
Resource Area. If it is in an interoperability net, the channel will display a red
outline and be grayed out to indicate it is no longer sending or receiving audio
with other members of its net. If the channel is being monitored in the Monitors
Area, it will continue to be monitored. If the channel is a Monitor in the Monitors
Area, it will cease monitoring for the duration of the two-way communications
and will be grayed out.
